On the acoustic track, both SC based artists Cunningham and McCleskey (of the The Tarlatans) merge their talents for penning heartfelt rock/songwriter style tunes by coming together to cowrite, record and acoustically perform the song.

Following Cunningham’s 2012 release of his solo album Heart Pressure—called one of the year’s best local albums by Charleston Scene and earning Cunningham a ‘Songwriter of the Year’ nomination from the City Paper—the artist immediately went back to work tracking his new album which is set for a summer 2013 release date. In-between work on the album and tour dates, Cunningham actively cowrites with a broad range of fellow songwriters—one being McCleskey.

Relatively newcomers to Charleston’s thriving music scene, McCleskey’s band The Tarlatans—formed at Clemson University—have garnered quite the buzz during their short time in the Low Country. Having met through mutual friends and eventually signing to the same management group, Cunningham and McCleskey’s writing styles seem to effortlessly compliment one another and nowhere is it more evident than on their first cowriting venture—Leaving A Mark.

Download their acoustic performance of Leaving A Mark on iTunes and other online music retail outlets starting Monday March 11thand be sure to get the latest info, tour dates and music on both artists’ websites at and
